- In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the 1 lb caramel and 1/4 cup water. Stir constantly until the caramels are completely melted, smooth, and warm.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the 2 quarts popcorn and 1/4 cup peanuts.
- Pour the warm caramel mixture over the popcorn and peanuts, stirring quickly with a wooden spoon until everything is evenly coated.
- Working quickly while the mixture is still warm but safe to touch, use lightly buttered hands to press and shape the mixture into firm, round balls. Let them cool on wax paper until they are firm and set.
