Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Macaroni

  1. Cook the 2 cups broken macaroni in 8 cups boiling water seasoned with 2 teaspoons salt for 15 minutes until tender.
  2. Drain the macaroni and rinse it thoroughly in hot water.

Step 2: Assemble and Bake

  1. Place the cooked macaroni in layers in a buttered baking dish, sprinkling each layer with the 2 cups grated aged cheese, 1 teaspoon mustard, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and a dash pepper.
  2. Pour the 1 1/4 cups scalded milk around the edges of the baking dish.
