Instructions
Step 1: Cooking the Syrup
- Combine 2 c. sugar, 1 c. water, 1/4 tsp. salt, 2 squares (2 oz) unsweetened chocolate, and 2 tbsp. light corn syrup in a saucepan.
- Place over slow heat and stir until dissolved.
- Cook until a little syrup dropped in cold water forms a soft ball.
Step 2: Finishing and Spreading
- Add 2 tbsp. butter and 1 tsp. vanilla.
- Beat until thick and creamy.
- Spread on cooled cake.
