Instructions

Step 1: Combine and Boil

  1. In a saucepan, mix the 2/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar, 2/3 cup pineapple juice, 1/4 cup white vinegar, 1 teaspoon catsup, 1 teaspoon plus soy sauce, and 1 dash garlic salt.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat until bubbling.

Step 2: Thicken and Finish

  1. In a small bowl, make a slurry by diluting the 2-tablespoon cornstarch with 1/4 cup water until smooth.
  2. Thicken the boiling sauce with the cornstarch slurry, stirring constantly until glossy and thickened to your desired consistency.
  3. Cook for one more minute after adding the cornstarch until translucent and bubbling.

💡 Make-Ahead & Storage: Store the cooled sauce in an airtight glass jar in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
