Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Gravy and Meat

  1. Prepare the 1 package brown gravy mix according to the package directions.
  2. Cut the 1 pound beef into small cubes, omitting any fat.
  3. In a pan, braise the 1 pound beef and onion with a little Crisco (or other fat) until the beef is browned and fragrant.

Step 2: Simmer and Finish

  1. Pour the prepared gravy mix over the browned meat.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  3. Add pepper and paprika to taste.
  4. Stir in the 1 tablespoon sour cream.
  5. Cook until the beef is tender and the sauce has reduced slightly.
