Instructions

Step 1: Cook and Cool

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the 1 large package orange jello, 2 cups cold water, and 1 tall can crushed pineapple with its juice.
  2. Cook the mixture over medium heat for five minutes, stirring occasionally. Be careful to do not boil.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the mixture cool completely to room temperature before proceeding.

Step 2: Assemble and Chill

  1. Gently fold the 8 oz Cool Whip and 1 cup chopped pecans into the cooled jello mixture until well combined and uniform in color.
  2. Pour the mixture into a long pyrex dish, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  3. Sprinkle the top evenly with parmesan cheese to taste.
  4. Place in the refrigerator and chill for at least 4 hours until completely set and firm to the touch.
