A classic sweet and sour pork recipe featuring crispy battered meat tossed in a vibrant homemade sauce with pineapple and peppers. Perfect for a comforting and flavorful dinner.
First of all, cube your 2 lbs pork. Then dip in batter made of 2 eggs, 1/2 tsp salt, 3/4 cup flour, and 2-3 tbsp water. Batter will be thick.
Dip 2 lbs pork and fry til golden brown.
Step 2: Make Sauce and Combine
Mix the 1 cup vinegar, 1 cup water, 1 cup sugar, 3 tbsp corn starch, 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp pepper, 1 1/2 tsp accent, 1 pinch ginger, and 3 tbsp ketchup together.
Stir and cook til clear—a pretty reddish color only transparent. It will get a little thick.
Then add cooked 2 lbs pork also 2 green peppers, 2 tomatoes, and 1 can pineapple.
Cook for about 3 minutes.
💡 Make-Ahead & Storage: The sauce and meat can be prepared ahead separately, but combine and cook with the fresh vegetables right before serving for the best texture.
