Instructions
Step 1: Prep and Brown
- Season the 1 1/2 lbs. hamburger with salt and pepper and pat into a round flat loaf.
- Brown in hot fat, turning carefully with a pancake turner so the loaf will not break.
Step 2: Bake
- Add the 1/4 c. flour to the fat and mix.
- Add the 1 can tomatoes and 1 can peas, cover the pan, and cook in a moderate oven (350° F) for one hour until bubbling and tender.
- Remove to a hot platter and surround with a border of mashed potatoes.
