Instructions

Step 1: Preparing the Sausage Sauce

  1. Put 2-3 lbs Italian mild sausage in a pot and cover with water.
  2. Boil until half of the water is gone, keeping burner on medium heat.
  3. Add 2 cans tomato puree, garlic salt, salt, pepper, oregano, and Italian seasoning to the pot.

Step 2: Making and Adding Meatballs

  1. Make meatballs using 2-3 lbs ground meat, parmesan cheese, 1 egg, milk, bread crumbs, salt, pepper, and garlic salt.
  2. Drop balls into the simmering sauce.
  3. Cook (simmer) for 4 hours until the sauce is deeply rich and flavorful.

Step 3: Serving

  1. Serve the finished meat and sauce over hot cooked spaghetti.

💡 Make-Ahead & Storage: This sauce tastes even better when made a day in advance and reheated slowly on the stovetop.
