Instructions

Step 1: Prep the Meat

  1. Cut 1 1/2 - 2 pounds flank steak across the grain into 1/4 inch slices.

Step 2: Make the Sauce

  1. Sauté 1 cup onion and 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic in 3 tablespoons vegetable oil until fragrant and translucent.
  2. Stir in 1 cup water, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 3 tablespoons soy sauce, 2 tablespoons peanut butter, 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger, 1/2 teaspoon lemon peel, and dash hot pepper, and cook until slightly thickened and aromatic.

Step 3: Grill the Skewers

  1. Thread the sliced meat onto skewers; brush generously with the prepared sauce.
  2. Grill for 8-10 minutes, basting continuously with sauce until browned and cooked to desired doneness.
