Instructions

Preparation and Assembly

  1. Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C).
  2. If your 4 large chicken breasts are thick, cut each one in half lengthwise to create 8 thinner pieces.
  3. Wrap 1 strip of bacon securely around each piece of chicken.
  4. Spread the 1 (4 oz) package dried chopped beef evenly over the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  5. Arrange the bacon-wrapped chicken pieces in a single layer directly on top of the dried chopped beef.

Sauce and Baking

  1. In a small bowl, combine the 1 (10.5 oz) can condensed cream of mushroom soup and the 1 (8 oz) carton sour cream, stirring until the mixture is smooth and fully blended.
  2. Pour the sauce mixture evenly over the chicken, ensuring each piece is completely covered to keep it moist during the long bake.
  3. Bake, uncovered, for 2.5 to 3 hours until the chicken is incredibly tender, the bacon is cooked through, and the sauce is bubbly and golden brown around the edges.
  4. Serve hot over a bed of cooked rice, spooning the rich, savory sauce from the dish over both the chicken and the rice as a gravy.

💡 Make-Ahead & Storage: This casserole can be assembled up to 24 hours in advance, covered, and stored in the refrigerator before baking. Leftovers keep well in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
