Instructions

Step 1: Mix and Shape

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a standard loaf pan (approx. 9x5 inches).
  2. In a large bowl, combine all the Meatloaf Ingredients: 2 lb Ground Meat, 1/2 cup Onion, 3/4 cup Bread Crumbs, 1 Egg, 1/2 cup Tomato Sauce, 1/2 tsp Black Pepper, 2 tsp Salt, and 1/2 tsp Worcestershire Sauce.
  3. Mix the ingredients thoroughly but gently using your hands until just combined, avoiding overmixing.
  4. Press the meat mixture evenly into the prepared loaf pan.

Step 2: Glaze and Bake

  1. Prepare Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together all the Glaze Ingredients: 1/2 cup Tomato Sauce, 1/2 cup Water, 2 Tbsp Brown Sugar, 2 Tbsp Vinegar, 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce, and 2 tsp Dry Mustard until smooth.
  2. Pour the prepared glaze evenly over the top of the raw meatloaf in the pan.
  3. Bake for 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes, or until the meatloaf is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) on a meat thermometer.
  4. Let the meatloaf rest in the pan for about 10 minutes until firm before slicing and serving.
