Instructions

Version 1 Instructions (Preferred)

  1. In a saucepan, combine 2 cups of sugar, 1/4 cup of cocoa powder, 1/2 cup of milk, and 1/4 lb. of oleo.
  2. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil and boil rapidly for exactly 1 minute.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat and immediately stir in 1 tsp. of vanilla extract, 1/2 cup of crunchy peanut butter, a pinch of salt, and 3 cups of quick oats until thoroughly combined and the peanut butter is fully melted.
  4. Drop the mixture by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper and allow to sit undisturbed until completely cooled and set firm.

Version 2 Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine 2 1/2 cups of quick cooking oats, 1/2 cup of peanut butter, and 1 tsp. of vanilla extract.
  2. In a separate saucepan, combine 1/2 cup of milk, 2 cups of sugar, a dash of salt, and 4 tbsp. of cocoa powder.
  3. Bring the liquid mixture to a boil and boil for 1 minute.
  4. Pour the hot boiled mixture directly over the oat mixture in the bowl and blend well until cohesive.
  5. Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper and let cool until firm.

💡 Make-Ahead & Storage: Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature with layers separated by waxed paper for up to 1 week, or freeze for up to 3 months.
