Instructions

Step 1: Prep and Filling

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F. Generously grease and flour a Bundt pan.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the 1 cup chopped nuts, 1/4 cup brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon for the filling. Set aside.

Step 2: Batter and Assembly

  1. In a large bowl, cream the 1 cup oleo and 2 cups sugar together with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the 2 eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the 2 cups flour, 1 tablespoon baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
  4. On low speed, add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture in three parts, alternating with the 1 cup sour cream, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.
  5. Stir in the 1 tablespoon butter flavoring.
  6. Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared Bundt pan, and sprinkle the cinnamon-nut filling evenly over the batter.
  7. Carefully spoon the remaining batter over the filling layer.

Step 3: Bake and Cool

  1. Bake for 65 minutes until a long wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Let the cake cool in the pan for 15-20 minutes before turning it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
