Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Base

  1. In a large bowl, dissolve the 2 packages strawberry jello in 2 cups boiling water, stirring for 2 minutes until fully dissolved.
  2. Add the 2 packages frozen strawberries and stir until they are thawed and the mixture has cooled and begun to thicken.
  3. Gently fold in the 1 pint whipped cream, 1/2 to 2 cups crushed pineapple, 2 or 3 diced bananas, and 1 cup chopped nuts.

Step 2: Layer and Chill

  1. Pour half of the mixture into an 8x8x2 inch pan and refrigerate for 1-2 hours until firm to the touch.
  2. Carefully spread the 1 cup sour cream evenly over the set Jello layer.
  3. Gently pour the remaining Jello mixture over the sour cream layer.
  4. Return to the refrigerator and chill for at least 4 hours, or overnight, until the salad is completely firm and set.

💡 Make-Ahead & Storage: This salad is best made the day before to ensure the layers are completely firm. Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.
