Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Base
- In a large bowl, dissolve the 2 packages strawberry jello in 2 cups boiling water, stirring for 2 minutes until fully dissolved.
- Add the 2 packages frozen strawberries and stir until they are thawed and the mixture has cooled and begun to thicken.
- Gently fold in the 1 pint whipped cream, 1/2 to 2 cups crushed pineapple, 2 or 3 diced bananas, and 1 cup chopped nuts.
Step 2: Layer and Chill
- Pour half of the mixture into an 8x8x2 inch pan and refrigerate for 1-2 hours until firm to the touch.
- Carefully spread the 1 cup sour cream evenly over the set Jello layer.
- Gently pour the remaining Jello mixture over the sour cream layer.
- Return to the refrigerator and chill for at least 4 hours, or overnight, until the salad is completely firm and set.
💡 Make-Ahead & Storage: This salad is best made the day before to ensure the layers are completely firm. Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.
