Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Cake
- Preheat your oven to 300°F. Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan or a tube/Bundt pan.
- In a large bowl, mix the 1 1/2 cups Wesson Oil and 2 cups sugar. Add the 2 eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Stir in the 3 cups raw apples and 2 teaspoons vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the 3 cups flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon baking soda, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined, then fold in the 1 cup chopped nuts.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 1 1/2 to 2 hours until a long wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
Step 2: Prepare the Topping
- Shortly before the cake is done, combine the 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup margarine, and 1/2 cup coffee cream in a small saucepan.
- Heat over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar is completely dissolved and the mixture is warm and smooth.
- Serve the warm cake with the warm topping drizzled over each slice.
💡 Make-Ahead & Storage: The cake can be stored at room temperature for 2 days or refrigerated for up to 5 days; reheat slices slightly before serving with the topping.
