Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Dough
- Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- In a large bowl, cream the 1 3/4 cups shortening and 1 cup sugar together with an electric mixer until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Beat in the 1 egg and 1 teaspoon almond extract until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the 2 3/8 cups flour and 1/8 teaspoon baking powder.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, mixing on low speed until a soft dough forms. If desired, mix in a few drops of green food coloring.
Step 2: Press and Bake
- Fill your cookie press with the dough and fit it with the Christmas tree disk.
