Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Base

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the 1 package (3 oz) cherry flavored gelatin and 1 cup boiling water, stirring until the powder is completely dissolved.
  2. Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature.

Step 2: Incorporate and Chill

  1. Gently stir in the 7 oz ginger ale and 2 Tbsp lime juice.
  2. Place the bowl in the refrigerator and chill until the mixture thickens to the consistency of unbeaten egg whites.
  3. Fold in the 1 lb 2 oz fruit cocktail and pour the mixture into a 1-quart mold.
  4. Chill for at least 4 hours, or until the gelatin is completely firm and set.
