Instructions

Step 1: Rice Preparation & Chilling

  1. Cook the 1 pkg long grain and wild rice mix according to package directions, omitting any butter.
  2. Turn the cooked rice into a shallow metal pan.
  3. Toss the rice with 1/4 cup bottled herb and garlic salad dressing (half of the total amount).
  4. Place in the freezer to chill quickly for 30 minutes until cold.

Step 2: Assembly & Serving

  1. Add the remaining 1/4 cup bottled herb and garlic salad dressing, 1 cup chopped celery, and 1/4 cup sliced green onion to the chilled rice.
  2. Toss until well blended and evenly coated.
  3. Serve on a bed of crisp lettuce and garnish with tomato wedges.

💡 Make-Ahead & Storage: The rice can be cooked and chilled up to a day in advance before adding the fresh celery and final dressing.
