Instructions
Step 1: Prep Greens and Bacon
- Wash, drain, and tear the 1 pound fresh spinach and 1 head red leaf lettuce (or iceberg lettuce), then place them in a large salad bowl.
- Fry the 1/4 pound bacon until crisp, drain the fat, let cool, and crumble.
Step 2: Make the Dressing
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the 1/4 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon dry mustard, 1 teaspoon onion juice, 1/3 cup cider vinegar, and 1 cup salad oil until well combined.
Step 3: Toss and Serve
- Add the crumbled bacon to the salad greens.
