Instructions

Cooking and Setting

  1. Add 2 tbsp vinegar or lemon juice to the 4 cups strawberries and bring to a rolling boil.
  2. Boil for 3 minutes, then add the 4 cups sugar, stirring constantly.
  3. Bring the mixture back to a rolling boil and boil for an additional six minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and pour into a bowl; let sit uncovered for 24 hours, stirring occasionally.
  5. Seal the preserves while cold.

💡 Make-Ahead & Storage: The preserves must sit uncovered for 24 hours at room temperature to set properly before sealing.
