Instructions
Step 1: Make the Sauce
- In a skillet, brown 1/4 lb pork sausage, 1 lb ground beef, 1 chopped onion, and 1 clove garlic. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in 2 T. olive oil, 1 (1-lb) can tomatoes, 1 (6-oz) tomato paste, 1 T. parsley, 1 T. basil, and 1 1/2 tsp. salt.
- Simmer the ingredients for 30 minutes uncovered until slightly thickened and aromatic.
Step 2: Prepare Cheese Mixture and Assemble
- In a mixing bowl, mix together 3 cups cottage cheese, 2 beaten eggs, 2 tsp. salt, 1/3 tsp. pepper, 2 T. parsley flakes, and 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese.
- Layer the 10 oz lasagne noodles, meat sauce, cheese mixture, and 1 lb mozzarella cheese in a baking dish.
Step 3: Bake
- Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden brown.
