Instructions

Step 1: Stovetop Preparation

  1. Cook 2 slices bacon in a skillet until crisp, then remove and reserve.
  2. Cook 1/2 cup chopped onion in the bacon drippings until tender.
  3. Stir in 1 can cream of mushroom soup, 1/2 cup water, 1/2 tsp salt, and 1 dash pepper.

Step 2: Assembly and Baking

  1. Add 3 cups cooked, sliced potatoes and 1 cup cut green beans into the mixture and stir well.
  2. Pour the mixture into a casserole dish and stand 1/2 lb split and halved weiners around the edges.
  3. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes until bubbly and hot.
  4. Top with the reserved bacon and cheese cubes if desired before serving.
