Instructions

Step 1: Mixing and Shaping

  1. Combine 1 pound ground round, 1/3 cup chili sauce, 2 tsps prepared mustard, 1 tsp horse radish, 1 garlic clove, 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce, 1 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp pepper, and 2 tsps grated onion in a bowl. Blend well.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 portions and flatten into 5-inch patties.

Step 2: Cooking and Serving

  1. Fry patties on a hot griddle or in a hot frying pan over medium flame in a small amount of butter.
  2. Cook 2 minutes on each side for medium, or 3 minutes each side for well done. Do not turn patties over until browned on one side.
  3. Brush 4 hamburger buns with butter prior to toasting, and toast in the broiler until golden.
  4. Serve hamburgers on the toasted buns at once.

💡 Make-Ahead & Storage: Patties can be shaped and refrigerated for a few hours before cooking; bring slightly closer to room temperature before frying.
