Instructions

Step 1: Browning and Simmering

  1. In a skillet, brown 2 lb. chicken parts in 2 tbsp. shortening until golden on all sides.
  2. Stir in 1 can tomato soup, 1/3 c. celery, 1/3 c. onions, 1 small clove garlic, 2 tbsp. brown sugar, 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce, 2 tsp. lemon juice, 2 tsp. mustard, and 2 to 4 drops Tabasco.
  3. Cover the skillet and simmer for 45 min., or until the chicken is tender, stirring now and then until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken.
  4. For an extra touch, garnish with lemon slices before serving.
