Instructions

Step 1: Prep and Mix Meatloaf

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the 1 1/2 pounds ground beef, 1/2 cup fresh bread crumbs, 1 chopped onion, 1 beaten egg, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper, and 1 cup tomato sauce (half of the total tomato sauce).
  3. Mix well until fully incorporated and place the mixture into the prepared loaf pan, shaping it evenly.

Step 2: Prepare Topping and Bake

  1. In a separate bowl, combine the 1 cup tomato sauce (remaining) with the 1/3 cup water, 3 tablespoons vinegar, 3 tablespoons brown sugar, 2 tablespoons prepared mustard, and 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce to create the barbecue topping.
  2. Pour the prepared barbecue topping sauce evenly over the meatloaf in the pan until fully coated.
  3. Bake for 1 hour until cooked through, bubbly, and fragrant.
