Instructions

Making the Cake

  1. Beat 2 eggs, add 1 C. sugar, and beat again until well combined.
  2. Add 2 C. flour and 1 C. sour cream, then add the flavoring and mix thoroughly.
  3. At last, stir in the 1 tsp soda that has been dissolved in a little water.
  4. Bake until golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Making the 7 Minute Icing

  1. Combine 1 C. sugar, 1/4 C. cold water, 1/2 tsp vanilla, 1/8 tsp cream of tartar, 1/8 tsp salt, and 1 egg white.
  2. Cook for 7 minutes while beating continuously until stiff peaks form and glossy texture is achieved.
