Instructions

Mixing the Dough

  1. Lightly spoon 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour into a measuring cup and level off.
  2. Into a large bowl, combine all ingredients except 1 cup flour, 2 cups quick cooking oatmeal, 6 oz (1 cup) chocolate chips, and 1 cup nuts.
  3. Beat at medium speed until blended, about 1 to 2 minutes.
  4. By hand, stir in the remaining flour, oats, chocolate chips, and nuts, along with one optional ingredient if desired.

Baking

  1. Drop dough by rounded teaspoons, 2 inches apart, onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
  2. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes, until golden brown.
  3. Cool 1 minute before removing from the sheet.
