Instructions
Step 1: Making the Batter
- Sift together 1 1/2 cups flour, 2 tsp. baking powder, and 1/2 cup sugar.
- Cut in 1/3 cup shortening until the mixture resembles coarse meal.
- Combine 1 egg, 1/2 cup milk, 3/4 cup mincemeat, 1/2 cup nuts, and 1/2 cup Kellogg Concentrate Cereal, then add to the flour mixture.
Step 2: Baking and Glazing
- Pat dough into a greased and floured 8 1/2” ring pan or 8x8” pan.
- Bake at 375° for 30 minutes or until golden brown and baked through.
- Remove from pan while still warm and spread with sugar glaze made by combining 1 cup confectioner sugar and 1 Tbsp. milk.
💡 Make-Ahead & Storage: Best served warm, but can be baked ahead of time and gently reheated before applying the glaze.
