Instructions
Step 1: Mixing the Dough
- Cream the 1/3 C. shortening and 1/3 C. sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Add 1 tsp. vanilla and 1 1/4 C. flour, mixing thoroughly to form a cohesive dough.
- Divide the dough in half and add the 1 sq. melted chocolate to one half, mixing well until thoroughly combined.
Step 2: Shaping and Baking
- Roll out the white dough, top with the chocolate dough, and roll like a jelly roll.
- Fold in half and press to marble the colors together, then shape into 2 rolls.
- Wrap in parchment or plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator until firm.
- Slice thin and bake for 12 minutes at 350°F until set and lightly golden.
