Instructions
Mixing and Baking
- In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 cups flour, 1 3/4 cups sugar, 1 1/2 tsp salt, 2 tsp baking powder, 2 tsp vanilla, 1 cup Crisco, 3/4 cup milk, and 2 eggs.
- Beat the mixture on speed #3 for 2 minutes until smooth.
- Add the remaining 2 eggs and beat for an additional 2 minutes until fully incorporated.
- Pour batter into a greased loaf or tube pan and bake at 375°F for 1 hour, or until a tester comes out clean and the top is golden brown.
💡 Make-Ahead & Storage: The batter can be divided into smaller loaf pans and frozen before baking. You may also cut the recipe in half for a smaller cake.
