Instructions
Preparation and Baking
- Preheat your oven to a moderate 350°F.
- Melt the 1/4 lb. butter directly inside a large casserole dish.
- In a separate mixing bowl, combine the 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar, 2 tsp. baking powder, 1 pinch salt, and 3/4 cup milk (all ingredients except the fruit). Beat well until smooth and thoroughly combined.
- Pour this batter mixture directly into the melted 1/4 lb. butter in the casserole dish. Do not stir them together.
- Evenly pour the 3-4 cups fruit over the top of the batter.
- Bake for 45 mins in the preheated 350°F oven until the crust rises to the top, turning a beautiful golden brown, and the fruit is bubbling around the edges.
