Instructions
Step 1: Melting and Mixing
- Over hot water combine 11 1/2 oz. milk chocolate morsels and 1 T. vegetable shortening.
- Stir till completely smooth.
- Remove from heat and add 1/2 cup raisins and 1/4 cup toasted almonds (half of the divided nuts), along with 1/2 t. pure vanilla extract.
Step 2: Setting and Serving
- Spread the mixture evenly in a waxed paper-lined 9x13 inch pan, ensuring the paper is long enough to lift the bark from the pan later.
- Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup toasted almonds over the top.
- Chill until firm, then break into pieces before serving.
