Instructions
Step 1: Preparation and Grinding
- Remove stems from 1 lb figs and 1 lb dates.
- Mix the fruit and 1 lb walnuts together, then put them through a meat chopper.
Step 2: Rolling and Cutting
- Work the mixture thoroughly with your hands on a board drenched with powdered sugar.
- Roll the mixture 1/4” thick and cut with a small biscuit cutter until all dough is used.
Step 3: Storing
- Dip each piece in powdered sugar and pack tightly in a tin box with oiled paper between each layer.
