Instructions

Step 1: Mixing and Boiling

  1. Mix 2 cups brown sugar and 1/2 cup butter, bring to a boil, then let cool slightly.

Step 2: Combining

  1. Add 2 eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  2. Stir in the dry ingredients including 1 1/2 cups flour, 2 tsp baking powder, and salt, followed by 1 tsp vanilla and 1 cup walnuts.

Step 3: Baking

  1. Pour the batter into a lined 9x13 pan.
  2. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes until golden and set.
  3. Cool in pan before cutting into 1 1/2 inch squares.
