Instructions

Step 1: Pan Preparation

  1. In a greased pan, spread the 1 cup brown sugar and dot evenly with the 1/3 cup butter.
  2. Cover the sugar and butter mixture with 5 to 6 apples, thinly sliced, and pour over the 1 tbsp water.

Step 2: Batter Preparation

  1. Separate the 2 eggs and beat the yolks.
  2. Add half of the 1/3 cup water to the beaten yolks, then alternate adding the dry ingredients (consisting of 1 1/4 cups bran, 1 cup flour, 2 1/2 tsp baking powder, and 1/4 tsp salt) and the remaining water, mixing until just combined.

Step 3: Baking

  1. Place the pan in the oven while mixing, then add the prepared batter over the apple layer.
  2. Bake for 50 min in a moderate oven until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
