Instructions

Mixing and Chilling

  1. In a mixing bowl, blend the 3/4 cup butter or margarine, 1 cup sugar, 2 eggs, and 1/2 tsp flavoring together.
  2. Add the sifted 2 1/2 cups flour, 1 tsp baking powder, and 1 tsp salt to the mixture and blend until combined.
  3. Chill the dough for at least 1 hour to ensure it is firm enough to roll.

Rolling and Baking

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Roll the dough out to 1/8 inch thickness on a lightly floured surface.
  3. Cut into desired shapes and place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  4. Bake for 6-8 minutes until the edges are lightly golden and set.
