Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Base

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 13x9 inch pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream the 1 1/2 cups butter or oleo and 3/4 cup sugar. Beat in the 2 eggs.
  3. Stir in the 3/4 cup flour, 1/2 cup nuts, 1 pinch salt, 2 tablespoons cocoa, and 1/4 teaspoon baking powder until just combined.
  4. Spread the batter evenly in the pan and bake for 15 minutes.

Step 2: Add Marshmallow Layer

  1. Remove the pan from the oven and sprinkle the 3 cups tiny marshmallows evenly over the hot base.
  2. Return to the oven and bake for 3 more minutes until the marshmallows are soft and puffy. Let cool completely.

Step 3: Prepare and Apply Topping

  1. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the 1/2 cup peanut butter, 1/2 cup chocolate chips, 1/2 cup butterscotch chips, and 1/4 cup oleo until smooth and glossy.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in the 1/2 cup Rice Krispies cereal.
  3. Spread the topping over the cooled marshmallow layer and chill until firm before cutting into bars.
