Instructions
Step 1: Prep and Batter Base
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease a 9-inch pie plate or round cake pan.
- In a medium bowl, combine the 3 large Eggs (yolks only), 1 cup Sugar, 3/4 cup chopped Nuts, 3/4 cup crushed Soda Crackers, 1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder, and a dash of Salt. Mix well until thoroughly combined.
Step 2: Whip and Fold
- In a separate, clean bowl, beat the remaining 3 large Eggs (whites only) with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the yolk mixture in three additions until just combined and no white streaks remain.
Step 3: Bake and Serve
- Pour the batter into the greased pan or pie plate.
- Bake for 30 minutes until the torte will puff up and be golden brown.
- Let the torte cool completely in the pan.
