Instructions

Step 1: Prep and Mix Batter

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a large tube or angel food cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the 1 box lemon Cake Mix, 4 large Eggs, and 1 cup Water (or Orange Juice).
  3. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for 4 minutes until smooth.
  4. Add the ½ cup Oil and ¼ cup Poppy Seeds to the batter. Blend on low speed until just combined.

Step 2: Bake and Cool

  1. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
  2. Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until a long wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean and the top is springy to the touch.
  3. Let the cake cool in the pan for 20-25 minutes before carefully inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
