MeasurementsIngredientsPrep / Notes
3/4 CupBrown Sugarpacked
3/4 CupCoconutshredded
2 TablespoonsMargarine or Buttersoftened
1/2 CupMilkevaporated or regular

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Frosting

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the 3/4 cup brown sugar, 2 tablespoons margarine, and 1/2 cup milk. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until the margarine is melted and the brown sugar is fully dissolved.
  2. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the 3/4 cup coconut. If the mixture appears too thick, add a splash of additional milk to reach a spreadable consistency.

Step 2: Apply and Broil

  1. Pour and spread the hot frosting immediately over your freshly baked, hot cake.
  2. Return the frosted cake to the oven or place under the broiler for 5-7 minutes. Watch carefully until the frosting is bubbly and looks golden-glazed, ensuring it does not burn.

💡 Make-Ahead & Storage: This frosting is best prepared and applied immediately while the cake is hot; it does not store well once broiled.
