Instructions

Step 1: Preparation

  1. Grease a baking pan and set it aside.

Step 2: Cook the Toffee

  1. In a saucepan, combine 1 cup powdered sugar, 1/4 lb butter, and 1/2 cup molasses.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture reaches the hard-crack stage (approx. 300°F) and becomes brittle when dropped in cold water.

Step 3: Finish and Cool

  1. Remove from heat and immediately stir in a pinch of baking soda and chopped nuts as needed until foamy and well combined.
  2. Quickly pour the mixture into the prepared greased pan, spreading it evenly. Allow to cool completely until hardened, then break into pieces.

💡 Make-Ahead & Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks. Keep in a cool, dry place to prevent the toffee from becoming sticky.
