Instructions
Step 1: Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan or a tube/Bundt pan.
Step 2: Mixing the Batter
- In a large bowl, mix the 1 cup Wesson oil, 2 cups sugar, and 2 eggs until well combined.
- Stir in the 2 teaspoons vanilla and the 3 cups grated Winesap apples.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the 3 cups flour, 2 teaspoons baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet apple mixture and stir with a spatula until just combined; the batter will be very thick.
- Fold in the 1 cup nuts.
Step 3: Baking
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until a long wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
