Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Dough

  1. In a large bowl, cream together 1 cup powdered sugar, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup oleo, and 1 cup cooking oil until smooth.
  2. Beat in 2 eggs and 1 teaspoon vanilla until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together 4 1/2 cups plus 2 tablespoons flour, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon soda, and 1 teaspoon cream of tartar.
  4. Gradually incorporate the dry mixture into the wet ingredients until a soft dough forms.

Step 2: Chill and Shape

  1. Cover the dough and chill for at least 2 hours until firm.
  2. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  3. Roll dough into small balls and place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  4. Dip the bottom of a glass into the cinnamon and sugar mixture and press each ball flat.

Step 3: Bake

  1. Bake for 10 minutes until the edges are lightly golden and fragrant.
