Instructions

Step 1: Prep and Base

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease and line a 9x13 inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the 10 Tbsp butter or oleo over low heat. Remove from the heat and stir in the 1 1/2 cups brown sugar until well combined. Let the mixture cool for about 5 minutes.

Step 2: Combine and Bake

  1. Stir in the 2 beaten eggs and 1 tsp vanilla.
  2. In a separate bowl, sift together the 1 1/2 cups flour, 1/2 tsp salt, and 2 tsp baking powder.
  3. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined.
  4. Fold in the 1/2 cup black walnuts and 1 pkg butterscotch bits.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached. Do not overbake.
  6. Let the blondies cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before cutting into bars.
