Instructions

Step 1: Preparation

  1. Butter a 13x9x2 inch pan and set aside.
  2. In a large heatproof bowl, combine the 12 ounce jar peanut butter, 7 ounce jar marshmallow creme, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1 cup chopped peanuts. Set aside.

Step 2: Cook the Syrup

  1. In a large, heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine the 2 cups sugar, 2 cups light brown sugar, 3/4 cup milk, and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
  2. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Once at a rolling boil, continue to boil for exactly 4 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 3: Combine and Set

  1. Immediately remove the pan from the heat and pour the hot syrup over the peanut butter mixture in the bowl.
  2. Stir quickly and vigorously until the mixture is well blended and smooth.
  3. Pour the fudge into the prepared pan and sprinkle the top with the 1/4 cup peanut halves.
  4. Allow the candy to cool for about 2 hours until firm to the touch before cutting into squares.
