Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Batter

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. In a small saucepan, melt the 1 oz chocolate and 1/4 C butter together, stirring until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the 2 large eggs until they are light and lemon-colored, then gradually beat in the 1 C sugar.
  4. Stir in the 1/4 tsp salt, 1 1/2 tsp vanilla, and 1/4 C milk until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the 1 C flour to the mixture, then fold in the 1 C pecans and the melted chocolate-butter mixture.

Step 2: Bake and Serve

  1. Line a buttered 8x8x2 inch pan with waxed paper and butter the surface of the paper.
  2. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake at 350°F for 30 minutes until set.
  3. While still warm, cut the bars into 1 1/2 inch squares before removing them from the pan.
