Instructions

Step 1: Preparation

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Melt the 1/4 pound butter and pour it evenly into the bottom of a 9x13 inch casserole dish.
  3. Arrange the 12 to 18 frozen cheese blintzes in a single layer on top of the melted butter.

Step 2: Custard and Bake

  1. In a separate bowl, whisk together the 4 large eggs, 1 1/2 cups sour cream, 1/4 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and optional 1 teaspoon orange juice until smooth.
  2. Pour the custard mixture evenly over the cheese blintzes.
  3. Bake for 45 minutes, or until the custard is set and the top is golden brown and fragrant.
  4. Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar and topped with fresh strawberries.

💡 Make-Ahead & Storage: For a smaller batch using 6 to 8 blintzes, cut all other ingredients in half and use an 8x8 inch baking dish.
