Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Pan
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Place the 1/2 cube (4 Tbsp) margarine in an 8x8 inch baking pan and place in the oven until melted.
Step 2: Assemble the Cobbler
- Carefully remove the pan from the oven, add the 1 cup peaches, and sprinkle with spice.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the 1 cup flour, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1 cup sugar, and nutmeg.
- Stir in the 1/2 cup milk to form a smooth batter.
- Pour the batter evenly over the peaches in the pan. Do not stir.
Step 3: Bake
- Bake for 25 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and fragrant.
