Instructions
Step 1: Caramel Sauce
- Melt 14 oz caramels with 1/3 c. evap. milk. Stir and cook until smooth. Keep warm.
Step 2: Base and First Bake
- Mix 1 pkg. German Choc. Cake mix with 1/3 c. evap. milk and 3/4 c. margarine melted with a spoon.
- Stir in 1 c. chopped pecans.
- Put 1/2 of the batter in a 9x13 pan.
- Bake 6 min. at 350°. Take out.
Step 3: Assembly and Final Bake
- Sprinkle with 6 oz pkg. choc. chips.
- Spread warm carmel mixture over chips.
- Then put rest of cake mix over carmel (real thick — spread with hands).
- Bake at 350° for 20 min (looks underdone — but don’t overbake). Cool.
